about our products

Main features of the Wireless Information Server are:

FEATURE DESCRIPTION
Robust and Scalable base transport

WIS is a carrier strength proprietary mobile messaging platform and set of development tools that enable delivery of relevant information between multiple networks. It acts as an intelligent bridge between electronic information residing on various and otherwise disconnected networks.

Database Independence WIS can operate with any JDBC compliant database. Its open architecture also allows you to distribute your database over several machines and easily increase capacity and performance of your application as you userbase grows.
Platform Independence Our application can work on any Java compliant computer platform. This includes the Windows OS family, Linux, and Solaris.
Extensible via API, SOAP and XML Configuration The main purpose of WIS is to enable our customers and partners to quickly develop mobile messaging applications for their particular need and business. Our product comes with a set of extension tools and plug-in sockets that can be used to alter or change the behavior of the base software so that you can easily develop a powerful messaging business solution for your employees and customers.
Modular Design Apart from the base transport mechanism, almost all other modules can be switched off or on depending on your need.
Complete and robust POP3 e-mail server The product's core functionality (transport) is a powerful, scalable and efficient Internet messaging server with standard features such as POP3, SMPT and NNTP. It can be used as enterprise e-mail and collaboration server out-of-the-box. The server is compliant with any POP3 client such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, and Eudora.
Information Harvesting Modules

WIS ships with three information harvesting modules:

  • POP3 PULL,
  • IMAP4 PULL, and
  • SMS Command Analysis engine

These modules enable harvesting of information stored in external e-mail servers. The Automatic POP and IMAP Mail services provide users the ability to pool e-mail messages from other mail accounts. The Automatic Mail Service allows the users to set up and save the necessary information about the external account through the web interface. The external accounts are periodically checked for new messages by the system. The new messages are copied and downloaded to the users' mailboxes automatically and are available for viewing through an web browser or standard e-mail client.

The product's modular architecture enables the addition of new harvesting modules with greatly reduced design and development effort.

SMS Command Analysis Engine SMS Command Analysis Engine comes bundled with the base product. It enables analysis and execution of actions based on incoming SMS commands. The commands and actions are defined by the administrator. Using this module and combined with WIS' rule engine you can develop functionality for diverse businesses.
Rule Engine

Develop rules to execute commands based on preset criteria. WIS comes bundled with rules for processing e-mail and SMS messages. This means that each incoming message is compared with the set of rules that each user on the system defines and based on the rule the system executes a predefined action (for example converts e-mail to SMS and forwards it to the user's mobile phone).

The rule engine can be extended to examine various information objects (status of a remote database, status of inventory in warehouses, Stock market performance and changes) and based on preset criteria perform different actions.

Information Compression and Forwarding Depending on the destination, incoming information is formatted into a format understood by a receiving device. For example, if an incoming e-mail with an attachment needs to be forwarded to a SMS device, the information in the e-mail will be analyzed by the system, important pieces will be extracted, compressed and sent to the SMS user. All of this processing takes place on the server, depending on the instructions each user of the system previously defined.
E-mail to SMS The base product's SMS module enables delivery of e-mail messages to SMS phones. The system also enables multiple recipient SMS sending (sending to groups for example)
SMS to e-mail Send, reply or forward e-mail from an SMS phone. The e-mail will be formatted using your corporate standard and will appear as if it were sent through a regular e-mail client.
spamGUARD

WIS processes SPAM on three levels. First, it monitors an Internet SPAM database and filters messages based on “user-in-fake-domain” rules. Second, it enables system administrators to block all messages coming from specific domains or addresses. Third, it records and counts all incoming messages for each user, allowing each user to analyze incoming email patterns.

Calendar and Alert Engine Enables users to set detailed calendar events through e-mail, WEB or SMS interface. It also enables alerts to be sent to any e-mail or SMS compliant device.
WEB mail Built in WEB mail enables users access to all of their e-mail accounts using any browser and computer.
Change Account and Mailbox Settings Through the WEB Interface Users may also change their application and mailbox settings and configuration using the WEB interface.
Detailed billing and usage statistics Enables service providers to automatically turn increased usage of their customers to increased revenue.
Comprehensive Administration, Billing and Reporting Interface

WIS can record a number of different transactions. The system can be configured to assign each of the transactions a credit value, so users can be charged for the traffic they generate. WIS provides the option to fund individual user accounts through the use of PIN numbers or eCommerce/payment functionality. Each user can review their transaction log at any time. Operators can create detailed usage reports and bill users accordingly.
